Guesthouse Keiko is a small, beautifully-decorated machiya townhouse located south of the Kyoto Imperial Palace Park, a few meters west of Teramachi Street. Major bus routes and the subway sytem are minutes from the front door. Kyoto JR Kyoto Station (the city's main train station) is 20 min. away by bus. This 80-year-old, Japanese-style house, with an interior garden, located in a quiet, traditional neighborhood just north of Kyoto's downtown core. Free Wi-Fi.
We are a 20 min. bus ride from JR Kyoto Station (15 min. by taxi; Yen 1,500). The house is about 30 meters west of the antique and craft section of Teramachi street. The house is set in an old traditional neighborhood featuring many old machiya townhouses. Main bus routes, 24-hour convenience store, public sento bath (of course we have a shower in the house), post office, and a 24-hr convenience store (with an international ATM machine) are just minutes away from the house on foot! There are also many great restaurants and bars/pub within walking distance of the house.
We have two private, traditionally decorated rooms in our old traditional Japanese house. The rooms are traditional tatami mat rooms (we do not have any beds, only futon mattresses: comfortable Japanese style).
Yen 30,000/night for the whole house; up to 6 people
This nightly price includes clean bedding and towels, use of the kitchen, and simple instructions on how to use the public transportation system and find good, inexpensive, real-Japanese restaurants.
